Another week has passed. This week seemed to have passed real fast.

Anyway, woke up this morning feeling like shit.
Went to the doctor's clinic around 8am - it wasn't open yet and there was already a queue.
Reached my office around 10am. Did what I had to do and went home around 11am.
Wondering why a lazy person like me will go all the way to work for 1hr? Haha! That's because I'm responsible. No la, haha, the deadline was today so by hook or by crook, I had to finish it. However, something cropped up on the other side so it still couldn't get completed today. Sigh! The inefficiency in the real world. There are lots of stuff which can always be done fast but for some unknown reasons, they just keep getting delayed (dragged n dragged..)
I'm on medical leave today so I'm going to stop thinking about work.
Got home in the afternoon and there was a heavy downpour. I love the rain sometimes though it gets me wet and sick most of the time =)
Wanted to study but didn't feel that good so I went to sleep.

Had a crazy dream! Woke up and told my little brother about it. He said I'm crazy too! Haha!

Excerpts from an article which I found to be very true and interesting:

"... today's teens are perpetually in touch, making plans and breaking them as fast as they can type." - damn true.

"Communicating online can be a creative exercise for teenagers as well as a positive outlet for those who lack self-confidence and find comfort in expressing themselves in a different format... ... Online, people say and do things they wouldn't say or do face to face." - ring any bells?

"... reliance on text messaging undermines the development of self-regulation and critical thinking because they are checking in with friends constantly and they can do anything on the spur of the moment.
You get used to things happening right away.
You become frustrated and impatient easily.
You become unwilling to work out problems.
You make decisions based on what feels good in the moment and it's all about instant gratification."

"Some fear the culture of blogging and webcams is creating a generation of narcissists who think their every thought is worth communicating." - luckily for me, I don't pose my every thought online.

"And while diaries used to be hidden away, many of today's teens are quite happy to go online and tell the world who broke their heart and why their parents ticked them off." - I still keep mine hidden away and sp should know. Stop laughing sp! Hahaha =D

"There's nothing new about teenage rebellion and the adolescent search for identity. But what makes it so daunting for today's parents is that technology gives teens tools with more power and scope than ever before."

Though the above was meant for today's teens and most of us are probably over the thirteen to nineteen age, I personally feels that the article still reflects very truely of what's going on with the youths of today - even the early 20s.

Techonology is indeed a powerful tool and I believe we can't do without it in this modern age.
Can you imagine one day, you wake up, realise that your computer can't work, there's no internet, no emails, no instant messaging (msn), no blogging, no nothing! You can't work anymore. You can't do that school project, that work report.. You can't check your emails.. You can't chat up friends online, can't read their blogs and find out how they are recently..
That was only the computer. What about the PDAs? Handphones? Mp3 players? DVD players? PS2? Xbox? TV? Or should I say plasma flatscreens???

I hope artificial intelligence is indeed artificial. I can't imagine us being controlled by robots. Shit. My screen just flashed. I swear!!! No offence, computer. Sorry.

I have to admit, I can't do without my handphone these days. I'd feel handicapped without it when I'm out of the house. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Guess they've already started their evil plan... ...
